Connect LazyListen to Zapier
Turn a public article, newsletter, RSS item, or pasted text into a private podcast episode from any Zap. This guide covers connecting your account, building the workflow, and fixing common errors.
Before you start
- A LazyListen account and a Zapier account are required.
- LazyListen for Zapier is currently a private beta. Accept the private integration invite first.
- Sign in to LazyListen in the same browser before connecting it in Zapier.
Connect your account
1Accept the integration
Open the private invite link above and add LazyListen to your Zapier account.
2Add a LazyListen connection
In Zapier, open App connections, search for LazyListen, and choose Add connection.
3Approve access
LazyListen displays a consent screen describing the zapier:episodes permission. Approve it to let Zapier create and read only episodes owned by your connected account.
Build an end-to-end Zap
Create Private Episode Job
Add LazyListen as an action. Provide exactly one of these:
- URL: a public HTTP or HTTPS article, newsletter, or RSS-item link.
- Text: content to narrate, up to 12,000 characters.
The step returns a job ID and its initial status. Keep the job ID for the later steps.
Get Episode Job
After a delay, use the job ID to check whether generation is pending, processing, ready, or failed. Longer sources can take several minutes.
Get Ready Private Episode
Once the status is ready, use the same job ID to retrieve the episode title, transcript excerpt, private episode page, and authenticated audio URL.
Troubleshooting
“Please reconnect LazyListen” or 401
Remove the old LazyListen connection in Zapier, then add it again and approve access on the LazyListen consent screen.
Input rejected or 400
Supply either URL or text, not both. URLs must be publicly reachable; local, private-network, and credential-bearing URLs are blocked.
Not found or not ready
Confirm the job ID came from the same connected LazyListen account. Run Get Episode Job first and wait until the status is ready.
Too many requests or 429
Wait before retrying. Creation is rate-limited to protect episode generation capacity.
Disconnect LazyListen
Open Zapier’s App connections, choose the LazyListen connection, and disconnect it. To request deletion of stored integration data or server-side token revocation, email support@lazylisten.com.
