Welcome to LazyListen. This is The Daily Rip for today. After The Bell: Intel’s server boom beat estimates while Deckers slid on slower brand growth.
I. spending pushed free cash flow negative. I.
AFTER THE BELL. I. Lane 🚗Intel, the PC and server-chip maker, jumped eight percent after hours Thursday after data-center demand powered its strongest revenue growth in nearly 15 years.
The RIP: INTC stock adjusted earnings per share of zero dollars and forty two cents doubled the zero dollars and twenty one cents estimate. I. 3 billion dollars.
I. inference created more demand for its server CPUs. But a two dollars and sixteen cents GAAP loss per share, higher planned capital spending, and a foundry business still reliant on internal orders leave the comeback with plenty left to prove.
For a stock that was down twenty eight percent during the chip dip, it was a happy sight. S. chip maker climbed eighty seven percent last year, and more than 170 percent this year.
Deckers Trips Over Growth 👟Deckers, the footwear group behind HOKA, UGG, and Teva, slid another seven percent after hours Thursday after an earnings beat failed to hide slower brand growth and shrinking operating income. The RIP: DECK stock fell six point seven percent after hours. 02 billion dollars, matching estimates.
5 million dollars, and UGG grew four point nine percent to 278 million dollars. 3 million dollars as SG&A expenses climbed thirteen percent, while a seven percent reduction in diluted shares helped preserve per-share growth. Deckers raised full-year earnings per share guidance by only zero dollars and five cents to seven dollars and thirty five cents–seven dollars and fifty cents, with the forecast assuming buybacks equal roughly eighty percent of projected free cash flow.
Investors wanted faster shoe sales, not better financial footwork. I. ambitions would consume more cash, even as their core businesses delivered growth.
Both firms said free cash flow- the lifeblood of all things good and plenty, was turning negative. 🩸 The RIP: TSLA stock fell fourteen point five percent and GOOGL stock, down seven point one three percent dropped seven point one percent, wiping out roughly five hundred billion dollars combined. 24 billion dollars in revenue.
8 billion dollars, but Alphabet raised 2026 capital expenditure guidance to one hundred ninety five billion dollars–two hundred five billion dollars. 79 billion dollars, helping push free cash flow negative as the company built robots, autonomous vehicles, and semiconductors. Elon Musk called it “a massive capital expenditure year” and predicted “maybe the best capital expenditure returns that we’ve ever seen,” but the Stocktwits room flipped fifty seven percent bearish after investors received the bill before the robots.
Sounds big if true. Problem is Tesla reported its highest quarterly revenue, but lowest operating profit in years. Also, two thirds of the entire earnings reported came from Tesla’s stake in SpaceX stock.
Alphabet had more to show for its spending. Google Cloud’s operating margin expanded to thirty five point six percent from twenty point seven percent, but negative free cash flow and another 15 billion dollars added to planned capital spending overshadowed the acceleration. Even AMZN stock fell four point six percent.
Amazon and Meta are both reporting next week, and their own 70 billion dollars+ capital expenditure totals are likely going up as well, and traders are cutting back now in expectation. TRENDING ON STOCKTWITS. 3 thousand WATCHERS · BULLISH · NORMAL ACTIVITYAMD climbed after Anthropic agreed to deploy up to 2 gigawatts of Instinct MI450 GPUs, with the first gigawatt scheduled for early 2027.
I. 94 billion dollars, even as Peacock posted its first quarterly profit and reached 48 million paid subscribers. 94 billion dollars.
The guidance reset and shrinking gross margin gave bears control, while value hunters argued that a profitable grocer near a 52-week low may have received an unnecessarily dramatic checkout receipt.
